So I am looking for an affordable helmet($200ish) that is safe and I kinda want a "loud" look.

I found this Nikko. Cant find any reviews on it though. It is Snell/DOT/ECE.... anyone have experience with this helmet??

I am also looking at the Scorpion EX-700/750.

Also considering finding a fiberglass lid and just painting it with rattle-can....?

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Never heard of Nikko, check out the Bell helmets , they have a few in your price range with really cool WWII style graphics.

Where in LA are you? I lived down there for years

Lived in the Baton Rouge area for seven years. Most recently in Hammond. Just moved to Denton, TX this last week. Where in LA did you live.

I have a couple Bells in mind. I just found DennisKirk.com, its pretty nifty.

+1 for Bell and Scorpion....they're great helmets, and have some pretty decent graphics. Never even heard of the Nikko whatever.

That item description is bollox, a plastic helmet is never gonna be the most technologically advanced helmet! And a hardcore racer would not wear a plastic lid........
Look for a more expensive helmet that's on offer / sale, would definitely look for at least a fiberglass lid (agv and hjc are also quite good for the money)

Most important of all though is fit, you could buy a $800 lid an if its too big then it won't do shit!!!!

I just found an AGV s-4 for 150... Might just wait a bit and try to catch some sales locally.

i have an ago k-3 and its great. quiet and comfortable & pretty mean looking imo.
i crashed it on my head and did a flip pivoting on the lid. i was totally fine. didn't even realize id hit my head really till i looked at the helmet and then replayed in my head how id ended up so far from my bike and facing the other way...
anyway . AGV gets my approval for sure!

Just ordered an AGV S-4 with tinted lens for 195! Thanks for the input amigos.

I think I am going to cover my old Icon Mainframe in stickers for a little custom look as well.

Much better choice....Dont get brand names unheard of....You would have problems finding tinted shields and parts if needed. Its good to search ebay for things to see if they are prevalent in the market.

Can't go wrong with AGV. I have been wearing Suomy for years and switched to AGV k3 this year. I've never loved a helmet this much.
