Ive actually had this bike for about 3 years. I started fixing after a friend wrecked it with under 1000 miles on it. Their money ran out and lucky for me I got a great deal on it. The bike sat out in the rain for a few years before i got it so the cluster was toast. Ill let the pics tell the story until now.

to this . . .

Obligatory yamaha subscribing...

Looks like a buell 7" light? What about the screen? Post a shot of that, looks good from the side!

Heres the newest (of many) dilemmas.

which headlight to use . . .

Round with carbon fiber fairing

VRod headlight with carbon fiber fairing

VRod headlight as close to the forks as possible

Yeah, pretty much can't cover up the v-rod headlight :D ...

I did like that fairing in a weird way though.

Yea, I like the fairing too, it just doesn't fit the look of this project.
Looks like ill be saving it for the CB750.

or the CM400.

The reason I chose to fighter this bike was for a couple reasons.

1) its a yamaha

2) I don't like the external coolant reservoir. No offense to anybody who runs one, I just have found very few that I like.

3) Battery box. Its already under the tank. well hidden if not slightly dangerous.

I remember some one a long time ago was making custom headlight brackets . . .

is that still happening ?

Mine are sh!t looking but they do the job. spending a lot of time tidying up the wiring loom
trying to hide electronics. with the battery under the tank theres not too much room to stuff
things.
