Hi folks.
Just found this forum today.
I'm rebuilding a 1974 Kawasaki Z1A (KZ900/1000). I have a complete front end from a ZX11C; a boxed aluminum swingarm from a Suzuki GS1100E; rear wheel from a GSXR1100; awaiting delivery of a custom-built pair of piggyback shocks from WilbersUSA.
Engine is standard bore 1103cc with Wiseco 10.25:1 pistons and Kenny Harmon cams. Need to buy new exhaust, probably V&H 4-into-1.
I hope to post pics early next week; I want to get the engine in the frame before I do.
Hopefully I can learn some and teach some here.

Hola Diego!
So how is my compadre from Argentina? Good to see you here man.
Of course I've regretted it ever since, but I sold my ZX11 last November. A guy from Pennsylvania actually pulled a trailer down here to Memphis and adopted her. I'm quite confident she went to a good home. I wouldn't have sold her to just anyone.
I checked out your bike pics. Very Nice! So how is Urbandrag II coming along? I actually had the pleasure to put a few miles on one of those "back in the day"! Two-Wheeled adrenalin for sure.:D
So how close to Mendoza are you? Some of my favorite wines produced in this world come from Argentina.:party-smiley: If I ever get down that way I'll let you know.
I look forward to your posts. Take care my friend.

sounds like a very interesting build. not the usual platform we see here. not that that is bad. im very interested to see the progression of the bike.

my pops has an 81 kz1000j (bike i learned to ride street on) i'd really like to get the thing running great for him and possibly do a few updating type mods to the bike.

all in due time i suppose.

we'll be looking for your pics Jim! keep us posted.

Thanks for your kind words, Jim!...
Regarding my other project, I started to make some research, indeed, I made a post at KZrider.com forums regarding the front end swap. I also have a ZX11C front end to be installed in a KZ750E frame (Stock 750 Turbo frame was damaged when crashed). People at KZR told to contact All Balls Racing (www.allballsracing.com) for a custom steering bearings setup, I sent them an email requesting a quotation but still no answer here...
I'm quite far from Mendoza, let's say, I live in the opposite side of the country, Buenos Aires. But you can buy good wines from Mendoza at any good supermarket or wine shop in my city. I used to taste some expensive wines with my friends when we made 'asados' (A kind of BBQ), even with pizzas, before I got married... You know, You have to choose between free sex or friends...
I think I have somewhere in the kitchen a bottle of 'homemade' (We call it 'Patero') wine from San Luis (Near Mendoza), that my parents bought me in their last vacations...
I don't know if I getting older (Or gay?), but I started to drink sparkling white wines more often... :drunk:
Of course, You are welcome in my country... I always have a wine ready to open in my wine rack for a friend!... :smiley_abzv: :winko:

Later!...
