hi all...good forum....i'm doug from london....i just built a hotrod fighter on an 2000 R1...and it rides awesome...i have been building and messing with bikes since i could walk.....i built this in six weeks,all paint myself,i made rear mudguard in steel and made my own bars as didnt find any i liked..she flies and handles too...dyno'd at 150bhp and hit 192mph...sweet

just my opinion, but i dont like the ape hangers, and the headlight looks tiny in comparison to the bike itself. looking at it i got the impression of a strong, solid bike....an image that headlight doesnt fit.



those ape hangers really kill it for me though.



your bike tho, very very nice work, been lookin for an R1 to tool around on myself.

Different. Hadn't ever thought of putting Ape's on a sport bike before.

That liscense plate must go through hell at almost 200mph or in the corners when you only get 20* of lean out of the left.

well it is different thats for sure.i kinda like the look of it but im usually the odd man out here when it comes to stuff like that.the problem is,the point to building a fighter is to enhance the performance and apes are a huge fail in that department.but like everyone else said,its your bike and if you happy with it FTW......welcome to the site....no go build something without apes.or maybe put some drag bars on that one.
