I tried to find the answer to my question in the forum, but to no avail so I thought I would just ask directly.

I know the basics of the reputation points, that people give them to you and you can give them back - What I don't understand is how the amount you give to someone else is calculated? I repped people when I was a Noob and they got zero from it. I repped someone when I moved to Fighter in Training and gave them 9 points. Is it to do with which category I am in?

Another question - What causes you to move up the categories? Is it the number of posts or is it based on reputation?

I think your rep giving power is your total rep divided by 235. That will give you a rough estimate of how much you give.

To test your theory I will rep you and Don and you can see what you get :)

Using your calculation it should be around 24 points
