Alright naked 87 cbr600 jetted correctly for altitude. Didn't know about it running lean with no fairings on due to the ram air affect, so I've heard different ideas on other threads but wanted to ask... I have a down flow k&n air filter so I don't care about it getting dirty. So I've heard block the air intakes on the frame with duct tape to reduce the ram air effect. But my wiring runs out one of the intake ports due to rookie ideas of an easier time wiring. I've also heard I can drill the top of my air intake to let the excess air flow out the top of the intake. Any thoughts guys?

ive run 2 early cbr6's with pretty much the same setup & neither ran lean until the extreme top end so if yours is running lean all through the rev range its either too much air flow from the K&N or poor jetting & setup

Drilling the airbox will make it worse & if you dont have the pipes from the airbox to the back of the frame holes it will be worse again

Stick a stock air filter in it run it up & do a plug chop to see what you have
