Just for Johnny I took off the massive exhaust weighed 25 pounds gives me room to figure out my sidecar mounts and my routing for the exhaust.
When all is said and done i need to weigh this to see how much I took off.
Side car arrives tommarow morning !!!!

Well handlebars won't work turns out that the risers are 1" and then at the controls the bars taper to 7/8th"

So F U HONDA
So now I gotta find a 7/8 bar I like for cheap then make an adapter for the risers
Tho this means I can use my r6 master now just need to find a hydrolic master that's more updated to match
If anyone's got a leads let me know

this is the second time im writing this computer died just as i was posting blah

anyway... shinyribs donated some bars for me. just waiting on adapters for my 1 inch risers

heres a few seats i had lying around im prolly going to go with the fz1 seat cause it fits best and is super comfy so if anyone has a spare let me know.

bandit 400

stocker!!!!

started playing with cardboard!!!!

the idea here is facets though im afraid of it looking like bad chopper coffin tank i think the profile will be rounded enough to avoid that. the top will be flat to faciltate guages. i wll be using my iphone for a speedo so i just want diagnostic tools and keep track of temps with large loads. the fuel filler is under all of this so the seat and the tank will hindge at oposite sides and swing up for filling. all of the electronics will be under the tank as well as room for bits and bobs.

had a spare bit of cardboard so i threw up this just to get an idea. the shaded areas will be perferated metal painted black then polish aluminum will be on top riveted with solid aircraft style rivets. the lights will be an led ridged industrys dually d2 for a main light and a ebay cheapy running light for the smaller round one.

Got cracking as my dnd game was cancelled due to the snow. Just got it blocked out with a basic shape. Not bad for a razor blade and a large hand saw

Did a bit of carving in today bout an hour till my hands hurt from the cold but the wifey helped keep everything even.
But all my budget got blown on my puppies last week. They managed to find a bottle of ibprofin from one of our moving boxes and an emergency trip to the vet later and I'm 1700 bucks lighter.
So I don't have much spare cash to play with so I don't know if I will be able to get everything done before the deadline.
So I'm looking for parts cheap if anyone has some spare bits
ESP a first gen fz1 seat
Well anyway here is some pics

Alright i might as well try to get something done. the bottom end of the car managed to survive i had to rebuild the head tho but didnt have to pull the engine so i didnt have to pay someone to do it. new cams and valves and done.
back to the bike
i got a beat up fz1 seat complete with tear for 25 bux via ebay so i spent today making it fit to the frame.

first to go was this cross member

in keeping with custom fighters tradition a pic of it gone
ImageUploadedByMO Free1393949938.272177.jpg
i figured it was ok to remove it as this hunk of tube was back here it was really only a seat bracket anyway
ImageUploadedByMO Free1393949973.548449.jpg
I had to grind off the seat mount and some of the pan in order to get it to fit up out back this will be cleaned up in the future
ImageUploadedByMO Free1393950008.080680.jpg
i cut and tacked the rear seat support about an 1/8th lower. i will weld it properly in the future. or well its only supporting my wife i might just leave it like that lol.
ImageUploadedByMO Free1393950036.018459.jpg
then i cut off the mounts for front seat brackets

I realise that this is probably the most ass backwards way to do it everyone else seems to make a cool tail then make a seat to suite but the ive put nearly 60000 miles on a stock fz seat and it is the most comfortable seat ive ever had so for this instance form goes over function. tho it seems to line up well with the frame just tucking over the shock mounts.

lemme know what you think

ive decided that its about time i took out the gas tank its just getting in the way i just havent cause its a major pain took more time to take it out than to fit the seat.
Im going to redo the fake tank as i had to hollow it out too much in order to make it fit over the gas tank filler cap so im just going to start fresh and learn from my previous mistake. im also discovering alot of dry rotted rubber so add to my when i have money buy this list which is getting ever longer.
