Hi new to the forum. Im in the middle of changing the front end of my 2001 yamaha fzs600. Ive bought and wired up a koso rx2n+ but im struggling with the settings. Ove wired the speedo sensor wires direct to the speed pick up on the front wheel(5v signal and earth). The koso is asking for diameter and number of pick up points. How do i work out the pulses per revolution please and the mm
Tach, I have wired this into the rpm wire on the origional dash. Am I right in thinking this should be set to 4 stroke 2 pistons and finally fuel gauge. What settings do i need to set it at to get accurate readings. On the origional cluster its showing half a tank but the koso is showing full tank. Sorry for all the questions but instructions arent very clear. Thanks,

the wheel dia, on a flat piece of ground, put a mark on the tyre and the ground, roll the bike a full revolution and measure the length. This is more accurate than measuring round the wheel, the rolling circumference is diff as you have two non identical wheels.
the other two , not sure, the fuel level might need some electrickery to get it to read right

Thank you. Do you know how i would work out how many times the speedo pick up on the wheel takes a reading per revolution of the wheel. Would it work if i was to take the speedo pick up off the front wheel and look at it to see how many pick up points it has

have you not had to fit a magnet for the sensor to pick up from? one magnet = one pick up per revolution
wanted to use the yamaha speed pick up if i can as it means less wires. In theory it should work as it has a 5v feed, speed signal and earth. Ive seen people do it on other yamaha forums but they dont mention what settings they used

With the speed sensor on mine (and I used the koso inductive sensor that came with it to pick up the bolts on the front disc) I measure the rolling circumference.
When I test rode the bike I used a gps, it was a fair bit out, took note of it and corrected the setting.

as for rpm, I did what I thought was correct but it was out by double - I think it said idling at 2000, I just tried a couple of different options until it said it was idling at what I knew was correct 1100 or so, unscientific I know but it worked.

Fuel, there is an option on the koso instructions that I used, I had an empty tank, it let me push a button when empty, I turned the tank upside down (so it thought it was full) then pushed the button again for full. Could also set the fuel light at 20% or so, fuel light is useful as I don’t have a reserve tap now.

Managed to fix the revs and speedo, done the same as you as fiddled with the settings, oddly had to set the rpm to 1.5 pistons for it to read right. Still working on the fuel gauge as i think its reading a bit high. Yamaha clocks read 1/2 a tank where as koso read 3/4. Also have no reserve tap. I have 3 options on it. 510 100 and adj. Set at 100 ohms. If i set at adj it makes the gauge read empty and flash
