Its funny, I started riding over 13 years ago, and when someone said the words " street sighter" to me, I had no idea what the heck they were talking about. I was told, although don't know how much I believed it, was guys that would go down the street with chains and pipes and try to make each other crash and generally, beat each other. Thus, they wrecked and the bikes were always all banged up.

I have just got into the scene myself, with the idea to build one,and by far, am no expert or hard core fighter guy myself. I just think its a good way to go with a beat bunch of parts and no desire to spend a zillion dollars on stock bodywork and what not.

With that said, I still find it funny how much I have been seeing/hearing guys talk about street flighters. It like the "chopper" fad for the current age. And a lot of guys on other boards are basically taking off the stock bodywork, putting on an acerbis headlight and calling it a fighter. LOL

To me, a street fighter should be a work of art, but the kind of art that doesn't appeal to everyone, just a select few.

fuck what others think

Exactly! Fuck what others think. Let them "Fighter" out their piece of shit 900rr's that have been dropped 100 times, rolled through traffic and zip tied together.

To people, their bike looks like a shit pile. When people ask me what my bike is, I tell them it's MY fighter.

tommy please post better pic of your heelguard. see you did a tail job on her too. bike is lookin phatttttt!

i like this thread doug.

i agree that streetfighters are to sportbikes what choppers are to cruisers. however more like the choppers of old than the new (except maybe in europe).

old school choppers and bobbers ran only what they needed. they did work themselves and changed things to make the bike their own. i mean who wants to have the SAME BIKE as everyone else?!

the chopper craze now is just tasteless. its like a competition for who can drop the most cash on their bike to make it look like a million other bikes! stupid. they just chrome EVERYTHING and get a wild paint job..mbe slap an EXTRA fat rear tire on it, and call it a custom chopper.

weak. im sad to see that the euro fighters seem to be moving in that direction....i mean i can understand it had to progress but shit, someone took it way down the wrong road. im seeing BIG BIG dollar fighters (which goes against the whole reason fighters were created) chrome, crazy paint and fat tires. ugh.

i guess its up to america (basically us), and all the true hardcore streetfighters from the other side of the pond to revive the fighterdom and save our culture!

I am glad you like the thread bro.

I also hate the cliche chopper BS too. I am happy making my fighter what I think a fighter should be, and it will not involve any chrome, crazy paint( Although I will have some cool sheet there), and certainly no wider tire than what came on the bike...a 180.

And my motivation for making this, not that anyone is questioning it, but for, is to build something cool with what I have. So, for not having full fairings or any stock lights, nothing but a wicked cool fighter makes sense to me.
