...for a 97 GSXR 1100.....I'm not into making a custom subframe so no one suggest that! LOL I am looking for suggestions for an existing subframe and tail for my bike....so let em rip!

Airtech makes a sweet tail (well I like it) as part of the "Rogue" kit. It can be bought separately though...I love the Rogue...

WEIRD!

I would say something thin, angular and sharp looking. 1000rr? r1? most of the newer bikes have pretty nice tails. that would really add something to the bike i think.

if you do anything then get the rouge tail. That frame and tank dont lend itself to many tails. Too many new tails are too big, even if they are thin. Only exception ive seen is this bike.

i know its not the same bike but the small tail with "invisible" subframe suit it very well.

Keep em coming guys! I did source out a place that makes the reproduction solo seat cowl for my bike, not really sure how it would look though.....might be another option!

Slice off the section where the pillion seat is and glass the end of the tail to the beginning.

Get someone who has a 2nd gen SV to measure eye to eye on the mounting holes.... i think its REALLY close when I look at the 750 frame in my garage.... then you could open up a bunch of new doors.

kind of boxy looking, but 900rr subframes have almost the exact same measurements at the frame as your 1100. just have to weld on 4 mounting tabs to the frame, and use a spacer on the top mounts to fill the 1/2" or so difference in width, and they bolt right on. there used to be a dozen or so perimeter framed gixxers running around here with 900rr subframe/tails on them.

there's a metric butt-ton of aftermarket tails for 900rr subframes too, you wouldn't have to use the 900rr tail, but the fact that the subframe lines up so well makes it that much easier.

Yes the MV looks KICK ass on those bikes. I'm trying to source an SV tail, and subframe....and a 900rr tail and subframe.....no luck on anything decently priced....the subframes aren't bad, but the plastics are pricey!

look how heavy the front end of that bike looks. its a huge mass of bike need something much smaller and contrasting to offset the 'visual' weight. imo.
