OK here is the monster post. a little history of my bike first. my brother got it in 98 as a totalled TLR with 417 miles. he was going to part it out but i insisted he not. 1500 bucks and some orange paint...it was on the road. then he sold me his go fast goodies from his TLR when he sold his. (YOSH full race system, BMC filter, stainless brake and clutch lines, power commander all for $500) well i rode it in that condition for 8 years and 10,000 miles including about 8 or so track days in the past few years. that was just it's gestational period. it wasn't finished by a long shot. i never really cared for the TLR styling only it's performance. so a few years back i purchased everything i mean everything to convert the tail to a 93 ZX7 tail. i always liked the shape however last new years weekend it was time. he borrowed a welder and we fabbed up the zx tail. it was too fat and just didn't look right (see pics) so i very quickly in a few weeks had sold the zx shit and decided on a 929 tail (very clean and beautiful. after we modded the 929 tail i fully stripped it down to nothing. ( the same weekend my brother and our group of friends went to daytona for bikeweek:bawling: ) in the mean time i came across a thread on TLzone about this F3 shock conversion to shitcan the stock rotary damper. (once you decide to do it you can't go back it involves hacking off the lugs for the stock linkages on the frame) well i did it and made an ugly $27 honda showa shock into a pretty $140 suzuki showa shock so now i sent everything for plating, powder and paint. i finally get it all back (long time period) and put it back together and decide to clean up the wiring (120-150 splices, solder, shrink tubing). well hell i might as well do some guages since i am fuggin around with it and the stockers looked gi-norm-ous above the new headlight then the paintwork comes back and i get the tank on and the bike starts (great!) however it runs like dung. which is where it has been since november. i have just recently started back at it again. the project has grown to a point i never would have expected time wise and cost wise. but i couldn't have done it without my brothers help (access to his shop and welding abilities), ebay and the internet in general. the project is turning out better than expected and i can't wait to get it in the sun because the orange pearl is phenomenal. and moreover i want to ride the damn thing. well enough is enough here are some pics.....i hope they work
