Hey guys, so before I pull the trigger on a tail, I wanted to get an opinion on how hard this swap is. I have no body work experience, but I can weld and I have access to a friend with fiberglass experience.

How hard will it be swapping a KTM tail onto a SV650? I am looking at the part where the tail meets the tank, and it looks like that will be my major trouble area? What about the seat?

Just wondering if any of you had any tips or ideas. Thanks

I plan on ordering the KTM fiberglass tail from catalystcomposites

What are you looking for here, man? I don't think I've ever seen an SV with an RC8 tail, and I can count on one hand the number of other bikes I've seen with the swap. At least two of those used the factory piece (one was another KTM). Not sure about the others.

No chance it'll come close to fitting out of the box. It's going to be like any other 'glass tail swap. Just move metal and lay down glass as need be.
