On my Gixxer. Do you think I should do a 929 tail or make something myself. I've done some fiberglassing myself on my race bikes before. Just trying to get some opinions. My bike is a 97 gsxr 600 so the tail is huge like some big queen bee butt. I'm really leaning on fabbing one.

depends how you wanna go, the simplist way to go is buy a subframe from the bike you wanna use the plastic from and bolt it on, that dosnt allways work.
I built my sub frame from 3/8th aluminium plate.

it worked out great and is really solid.

I'm going cut my subframe short and weld brackets on if I put a different tail on my bike. Only works if you can cut off parts of your stock subframe without worrying about the structure.

I think the MV Agusta tail is the way to go.
But thats just me.

I like the idea of fabbing your own subframe and possibly bodywork but for now, you could make your own subframe and use existing plastics for aesthetics. I think, as Greeny said, the '06 GSXR tail would look sweet. I have seen a few SRADs with 00-02 GSXR tails and they look pretty sweet. The best SRAD tail I've seen on a bike was a 916 tail, that looked sick...I'll see if I can find a pic, it was on my buddies bike.

Grafted tails are always nice because the tail isn't as obvious on a bike as others, so when you switch them around it makes the bike look different.

People will say, "I can't tell what looks weird about this bike but I know there's something different..."

I think the 916 is too comon lots of peeps use them.

theres a guy in town here with one of those,most of the local riders hate his bike so they dont ride with him,i think their kinda cool
