So to start I bought a 1993 yamaha seca II off craigslist for about $700. All I had to do was re-jet the carbs and it ran like a champ. The down side is that it looked like shit......

So the first thing I did was wrap that ugly-aSS body up with some left over fabric from an old stunt bike...

The second step was getting rid of the busted up gauges and those horrid touring styled handle bars. I ordered the clubman bars off of airtech-streamlining.com

now I have to fabricate a new battery box and subframe which is in process now. I just gave the sketch and dimentions to a good friend of mine that builds chopper frames.
Also I'm waiting to get my new vortex rearsets (off of a cbr600rr) which will also be fabricated to fit.

Once these pieces are all together I will be getting some more precise measurements for my exhaust. I will be having a 4-2-1 undertail exhaust. I'm just not possitive which can I'm going to use........

I just finished the new sprocket/chain 520 conversion!!!!!!
Custom made by sprocket specialists, my rear sprocket is 58teeth (+10 from stock). It has been anodized black and laser cut down the center. (no more tire removals just to re-gear!)

yes. that was my plan. But what brand or model would you suggest???

And what would be my best way of mounting my new tail section? Should I chop the subframe in half and fab. some fasteners and brackets or to just chop it all off and fab. a new subframe and battery box all at once?

Here's a 900 fighter that might give you some ideas

Also have a look on EBAY for Tarozzi rearsets - I think Scrapyard had a link listed a while ago (??). They were just basically footpegs and levers - mount them where you like.

Well I'm having a difficult time deciding whether I should go with an under tail exhaust or a stubby GP style????????

I love the way both look but I don't know if the undertail will create a heat issue since I live in the HOTTEST HELL HOLE IN AMERICA!!! (Phoenix, AZ)......... I have had them on stock production bikes (cbr 1000rr, and ninja zx6r) before. The ninja was a problem for my sensitive little azz. The cbr however only gave my passengers problems.

........But if I go with the GP.... then I will hav an empty under tail. I don't have an undertail to cover the gap?????

:wtf:
