well, DougZ said it. If i didnt have bad luck I would have no luck at all.
SO i'm goin down I75 yesterday on my way to get my lease to my new house. I feel my front end get light. I looked down and my stabilizer had come unbolted some fucking how. so i pulled over at a gas station and stuck it in my pocket and got gas. as i went to get back on my bike i noticed my handlebars were a bit loose. well it turned out that one of the 2 bolts that hold my risers on had vibrated loose and fell the fuck off. the other one was about to do the same. so i tighten it up with my hand and head to lowes. well they didnt have anything for me, so i went to advance, and they didnt even have an allen wrench so i could tighten it. so then i headed across the street to tuffy's.... not a single mechanic there would let me tighten a bolt using one of their wrenches. what douche bags! and as soon as i walked in the service door the guy automatically before i said anything just tells me "sorry we don't work on bikes here."
so i tighten the bolt using a multi tool i keep on me and kead down the road. i got to about 10 minutes away from where i was supposed to meet her and stopped at a gas station. she called and asked if i could meet her right then. well still having to pick up the money i asked her to wait. so i thought i had enough gas to at least make it to pick up the money and to the house. its only like 10-20 miles total. i got about 1/2 mile away from where i needed to be.... ran out of gas!!! but some guy was nice enough to give me a ride to the gas station and back. so that took about 5 minutes. after that everything was cool.... except on the way back when my bike basically ran out of oil. i stopped immediately and gave her some juice. oh and i stopped 5 times to get gas on the way back... when i only stopped twice on the way there lol. i think i finally learned my lesson about running out of gas.

Huh, I was going to ask where you lived that people were such jackasses (the mechanics, that is). My VMax fouled out running down the road and within five minutes a guy stopped and loaded it in the back of the truck and took me to a Harley dealership that was ten minutes out of his way. When I got there, the mechanics loaned me tools to do what I needed (one of the few times I've forgotten plugs and a ratchet when on a ride).

I pitched both of them a little cash for being generous. You didn't even get the opportunity to do the same, it seems. At least you got a little help getting gas.

Here's to hoping your luck turns around. :drinks:
