So it's this bit I'm having an issue with, it seems to be some sort of ratchet mechanism but can't for the life in me work it out. The gears are set to neutral, I can get it to go in first and 2nd but I take it the ratchets mech then moves this to allow it to reach the rest of the gears ( with all the brackets in place). Fucked if I know, got a manual coming so may just wait.

Light bracket hopefully finished tomorrow

Ignorance is bliss....

Was informed by someone last night that Suzuki used 4 different main bearing, each one is assigned a colour. As it turns out the cases dont match I now need to go through and work out what I need to make this crank work in these cases

Still need welding up, a bit of grinding back, riding up and the mounts fitting but the light brackets are pretty much done on the fabrication side.

Finally got my hands on a GSX-R1100 / GSX1100F manual, the above figure are general Suzuki 1100/1200 sizes. in the manual it has the thrust bearings as different sizes... FML

Best course of action here, pick a figure in the middle of all of them ( 0.08mm of clearance) and hope the ones that are fitted are near that, what could go wrong... At least I know the ones fitted are right for the crankshaft, I will also measure the thrust bearings guides on both sets of cases to make sure they are the same, and measure the right side thickness that should help me out on working out what engine the original was..

Really enjoying this game of what are you lol

Not got anything done on this over the weekend. Spent most of the weekend doing some service work on a mates bike, but at least the cash he chucked me will help off set the money I'm going to have to spend on the Engine. Also played with a mini moto I have that some one gave me as a non runner, thats now running so ill get that cleaned up and list and chuck that towards the parts list too.

Ill get this light bracket tacked on then I need to strip the front down to get the top yoke sorted so it fits properly. Then I think ill be shifting my attention to start buying and fitting all the bits I need or have floating around. Then I need to look at the wiring and battery I have an idea for that

got the thrust bearing measured, well the clearances at least and on the new cases the gap is between 0.07 and 0.08mm

at least that's one thing i shouldnt need to buy.

mini motors gone i have some space again now.

As I blow all my build budget this month on a 3d printer I best get some stuff designed to print.

So first up is a rear light bracket. Now I have no idea what I'm doing or if I'm doing it right but all the measurements are right. What I do have is time through the week (work away) to play on fusion so making the most of it.

Printer is somewhere in the Netherlands so not long now

Always one to jump in with both feet. Printer running great so swap out the filament for some nice blue, and printed off the light bracket. Fits perfect so I'll get the lights ordered at some point and make sure they fit then I'll do final print in better filament (once I work out what that is).

no support on the bottom?
Nope the light weights less then the mount lol. I will be adding two horizontal bolts taped into the top triple once I sorted out the Speedo bracket. Should be fine

If not should be easy enough to add something to the bottom

need to relocate the speedo bracket, the orignal sides from the front, i need it to slide from the back so i can add a mounting point to the rear. so using my new skills to see if i can print one. this will be the test print, make sure all the dimentions work then i'll fine tune it and add the fixing point.

Double failure tonight but it's to be expected.

Print was shit as for some reason I messed up the settings... And where I moved the point the wire goes through the bracket to the other side I had not calculated the point the wire was on the actual Speedo. But I'm now running off version two, the rest of the measurements look good but want to check then I can work out the bracket part.

Weather is terrible, so I striped down the front end to work out what size spacers I'll need for the top yoke.

They should do it

Last few adjustments to make, I'll add a couple of 20mm spacers to the design and I should be able to drill the holes to mount it all together. Then I can move on to the ever increasing list.

This will get printed off in finale filament once I finish my enclosure for the printer.
