Where I am is totally flat. Hence the nick name, "The Low Country". The only decent roads are way the hell out in BFE and they are few and far between. Mostly empty straights with some sweepers thrown in now and then. Sucks. I have more fun riding the off ramps around town.

Where I lived in SoCal, we were at the foothills of Mt. Baldy and the L.A. Forest. There was a killer road that was about a 15 min ride from the house. 22 miles of nothing but switchbacks and winding road. On one side was rock wall and the other side was mostly a vertical drop. Scenery was excellent though. Green valleies as far as the eye could see. There was even a cool little Cafe at the start of the road. We ride up, grab a bite to eat and some coffee then ride out the parking lot and hit this road all the way to Pamona. What a great way for a noobe to learn to ride. Loved it.

Fuck I gotta move out west.

Arizona has some kickass roads, a friend of mine in Phoenix says it's about a half hour from his house to some of the best twisties ever.

Colorado's roads are legendary, too. Bring an extra rear tire if you ever go out that way, seriously.
