Haven't even considered working on any of my projects the past month.
I did change the break in oil on the GT though, and now I can ride it like it was intended.
Suspension and power modes are set to sport and I turn the traction control off to get the full effects of it's 175HP.....

It's changed my outlook on riding.....fuck working on shit all the time, I just want to keep playing on my GT.

Sorry guys, I know that isn't the attitude for a forum designed for guys who want to build.
I guess I've been there and done that enough for a while.
The RZV will get put back together this winter....my parts money went into the GT's down payment :D

I understand......:drinks:......and riding season is very short where I'm at.

I've lost too many perfect riding days, trying to dial in a bike a little better first, or work on something before I go ride....then lose track of time and miss the chance/weather....
No matter what I have it's never quite perfect in my mind.....so I never stop fucking with it.
So a bone stock new bike needs nothing, but gas and someone to beat it with some love.

....winter is on its way though.....

Will be needing to finish setting up my new garage and have a clear out of what I won't be using anymore once the frost is here.

Looks like the chrome is pretty good, which is the most important thing on old bikes like that.
For $200....I’d probably buy it and hang it from the ceiling as decoration....doubt it would be much use on the street at 180cc’s. A lot of people are collecting those if they are complete.

Looks like a piston port design, so it's about as basic as a weedeater engine.
First thing you want to do is check compression if it has n't been running.
Pour just a bit of oil in the cylinders before you kick it and pull carbs off for a good reading.
With plugs out, put against cylinder while kicking and see if they show a spark.
It is running on points and condenser which can go bad with long/poor storage....(the GT750 I bought was full of spider eggs keeping things from working anymore.)
Carbs should be pretty basic too, so just a good cleanup and use a fuel bottle for a first start so the fuel tank is out of the way.....and not letting in crap to the carb.
Make sure the carb rubber boots to the cylinders are good, a leak here will keep it from running very good just like a leaking exhaust.

oh yea.....make sure you have oil either in the fuel or that the pump is working (if it has one?)

Check this forum out if you decide to keep it.

Well it's been going on almost a year since I bought my RZV from the Japanese Yahoo auctions....
I have been dragging ass, not really wanting to dig into the cases to get these cranks out. They only have about 6000 miles on them, but they are 35 years old. The leakdown showed that the seals were good, but the cylinders showed rust, so I was worried the bearings may have some rust too. Which means total teardown, and completely split the crank apart to check the bearings. Since it will be out, I am putting in new seals and all new bearings regardless how good the originals look. I only want to do this one time, and have a clear conscience, when I twist this thing up into the powerband to keep it singing

1991 Yamaha TZR250RSP 3XV2
Another stroker waiting for attention
One of 500 produced for Japanese F3 production racing.
basically a street legal TZ250, as they were designed together at the same time...
....All TZ parts interchange with the TZR...The SP version is half TZ half TZR

Still bringing bikes back from the dead
My 2020 winter build off....

After starting to rebuild this project....a lot of shit happened that changed the direction of the build.
But I finished the bike regardless of all the issues that tried to stop the project.
Last step is dialing in the Lectrons and putting some miles on.

Finish what you start....it pays off in multiple dividends

Still alive.
Project burn out after my VJ21 SP build.
Tired of fixing crap at the moment, just like I was when I bought my KTM a few years ago....
Two strokes are getting crazy expensive, and parts that are still available cost more than the bikes did several years ago.

So I said fuck it....and bought a new bike.
With 217HP, I doubt I will get bored with it.

If I survive my first year on it, it might then be time to let a few more bikes find happier homes....My CBX left, and it's living with my Left for Dead project GS1000 in Tennessee. Both getting better attention than I would be giving them now.

Just after bitching about projects....
I was offered a dirt cheap deal I couldn't pass up.
One year only 83 CB1100F
Needs a bit of everything.
Not a Honda guy, but have always liked these.

Might shove it in a corner and think about this one for a while.
