sorry, but she is a dumb ass

this is what happens, and the idiot goes out in an Icon Textile? Icon mesh gloves, and a shitty Icon helmet?

bad/cheap gear is as good as none IMO

i hope she doesnt come off that R6, but when it does happen, that gear isnt going to do anything

dude, chill.

yeah, she was a dumbass. but shit happens.

as for textile gear, it sure as hell is better than nuthing. I can't afford to buy a $400 leather jacket, neither can allot of other riders. so I rock a textile jacket, if it saves my skin in one accident then its worth the money I spent on it. I'd rather be riding in "cheap gear" as you call it than a sweatshirt and jeans.

I'm not gonna say the all Icons stuff is awesome, bit it aint complete SHIT either.

when youve seen it fall apart with your own eyes, i guess you'll understand

i know some of the stuff they make is 'ok' at best. but most of it is fashion gear IMO. Its ok for stunting and low speed, but over 40mph i wouldnt trust it at all.

and im sorry, but the 'i cant afford nice leather' argument doesnt hold up on my end. one of my jackets is a Teknic Speedstar that i got for $70 on ebay. it wasnt brand new, but i guarantee it will hold up better in a spill than that $300 Icon the guy next to me is wearing.

im not a gear nazi, but if something like that happens to an individual and they still wont wear proper gear, i can do nothing but point out the douchebaggery

not trying to insult anyone, but if you're going to spend money on gear, why not make it something that will actually protect you?

-i high sided a gsxr track bike wearin my super D and i was fine and i was doin about 110kmph

ive flipped countless endos and wheelies on my first r1 wearin the same jacket

ya leathers would be better but textile is allright,i could have bought a leather but i prefer a textile and i ride the way i feel comfortable
and THE MOST IMPORTANT thing when riding a bike is ride how your comfortable -that goes for gear and style
if you dont feel comfortable rolliung endos at 90km then dont do it,if you dont feel like draggin knees around corners then dont
and the same goes for gear if iot dosnt feel right dont do it
for the most part accidents happen when people try to ride outside their comfort range

icon makes some really nice shit....they also make some crap tho. agreed.

and...i crashed in a joe rocket textile jacket and it held up very well..considering what happend. its a little too torn up for me to wear it anymore, but it saved me.

my cortech leather jacket however has took a couple slides as well and thats held up really well. i wear it everytime i ride.

the stuff is throw away gear....good for one crash...then you gotta buy a new one. every crash is different...there are factors as to why sometimes seams blow open etc... Icon is in the same category as teknic and joe rocket...

i have to disagree

while not everything Teknic or JR makes is top quality, if you know what you're buying, their higher end models are A+

then again, im not saying 'everything' Icon makes is shite (because Id honestly like to have the TiMax 2 leather), but for the money there are MUCH better options

and i actually own Motorhead boots, so Im not 'anti-Icon' by any means
