Have we come to any concrete decisions yet???. Just wondered if the organizers have made any more progress or decisions with the buildoff. Any sign of coverage / sponsorship in the works?? Any suggestions for a location for the unveiling?

I am willing to start on Jan 1st, which seems to be the overall preference. I liked the rules set out by Adam (which pits all bikes together and adds in a variable as per cost). I like the fair market value idea for parts / materials. And the initial post of the bike so all can decide and agree on a fair value for the donnor. The ghetto and the pocket bike ideas are great for those who want lower budget classes. With 10 or more builders and 5 more maybee's, i'd say we're almost there Although we could leave the entries open until the build start date... I wish I knew how to set up a poll cause I would for the date to have the completion / unveiling..

Please post any suggestions for completion date. I'm thinking May 19th or 26th. Either one would be warm enough to make the long ride more enjoyable.

As far as sponsorship goes, it's hard to get sponsors since we only have 9 people definitely in it. If we get some bigger numbers then we'll be able to attract some more sponsors and bigger prizes!

someone has to talk to SSB and Streetfighters....a small writeup on the winner/bike in an upcoming issue was mentioned. Has to get done! Even just in the fanmail section, but it should be mentioned to both mags. They are the two that will get the word out.

I'm gonna talk to all the sportbike clubs and small comunity motorcycling papers in and around my area to look for sponsorship or at least as a minimum more exposure for us.

I'll generalise and say close to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada......Or Canadia (depends who you ask). Sounds like your out west somewhere, Maybe hook up for the trip down if you go... But I don't know if those pocket bikes will go at highway speeds!!!! I figure it looked like you might have a free TL in one of your recent posts??? Maybe good buildoff bike??..

Hope you make it, It'll be a fun ride (long one for you), But should be a good time meetin' some new - old freinds. We'll see how the turnout looks closer to the day.

that's exactly who i spoke too about it. he frequents some of the other boards i used to post on. i sent him an e-mail with links to this site. it's been quite a while since i've had any contact with him, i don't know if he ever checked out the links i sent him. any time i ever needed anything from SF mag, he was always who i was sent to, so i figured that'd be a good place to start. sorry if i dropped the ball and didn't check up on it, things have been kinda hectic here recently trying to get the shop up and running and still be able to pay the bills. i'll shoot him another e-mail.
