Scanned this real quick from my jp cycles catalog. If you can look at the plug end it will tell you which one you'd need its reference guide is at the bottom of the pic. I would say the 89-99 big twin with plug "H" is your guy...

Ohhhh boy I'm in trouble!....this thing just has a bunch of seperate wires where I figure the reg. goes, I mean it's got connecters on the wires but nothing like an actual plug

Just so you know that is a 1997 Heritage Softail. Its a great score.

It did some checking on the regulator. This is what it should look like



The black single wire goes to the positive terminal on the battery, The two prong goes to the stator.
