so I set to hacking the FZ-700 up over the last couple days. been havin allot of fun and here are the results. its not finnished, but it is much improved. I fabricated a new headlight, fighter style. it won't pass inspection but the hell with that. and I also took a hack saw to the rear end. tell me what you think

the brass knucks were actually an afterthought and a bit of a joke. I was joking about how ugly my gauges were and said I should hide them behind something, then decided that the knucks served the purpose quite nicely

it actually looks allot better in person. those pics were taken in the shed at night. the head light has two brightness settings.... ON and OFF. haha. I gotta figure out a cheap tail light. I'm also fabricating diamond plate side pannels to cover tha ecu, fuel pump and other sensitive bits. no need to fear though, all the diamond plate will be getting painted black. I also gotta figure out if I can chop the existing can since its all welded construction, otherwise I'll be lookin for a used choppable can to hack apart. also lookin at veypor gauges as soon as possible because the gauges that are on there are ugly as hell. once I get those then I'll slide the headlight up to where it is supposed to be

looks like your making progress!

i think since your making stuff already....make a bracket or mouting plate to put your gauges on. that fairing stay sticks out much too far.

thanks guys. I actually think its still pretty ugly, but getting better. I hate the tail section, exhaust and the gauges. there will be a vapor setup to fix the gauge problem. the tail section is gonna be a bit more challenging. I'm gonna borrow a friends mig welder and build a custom tail section... it'll be different and MUCH better lookin then what is on there now. the exhaust is gonna be getting a chopped can. I wanna make it really short for a more aggressive look/sound.

then I gotta tear the top end apart and figure out why #1 cylinder is running cooler than the others (lower compression, hopefully fixed when I redo the valves). maybe I'll just buy a 750 block and bore it out to 911. or I'll just get a junk r1 and do all the mods...... now I'm rambling, sorry

I'm just happy that if finally looks like a fighter not a salvage yard reject.

i would cut that can about in half...wouldnt go too short. remember thats gonna mess with your power curves.
bikes def. coming along tho. glad your making progress.

post up any thoughts or ideas you have 2+ heads are better than 1.

yeah, about in half is what I'm aimin for

my power curve is all fucked up already. its about gutless to 7000 rpm then is pulls pretty hard til redline..... most of the time. sometimes it doesn't pull until 8000 or not at all. kinda think I got a valve (or 5) sticking on cylinder 1. I gotta rejet the thing after I get the valves sorted. probably gonna go with pod filters so I can relocate the battery and stuff.

Factory Pro has a jet kit for the fz-700 that is setup for pod filters and slipon exhaust, I was gonna get that.

the ultimate plan is to make a r1/fz frankenfighter, but thats gonna take time and money. I got time but no money (or job, anyboby lookin for an out of work machinist?). so this is just to get me thru
