hey guys i'm a new member been fabricating and doing small jobs on my mates cars and bikes for a couple of years and a couple of months ago was given a 1988 Yamaha FZ600 and been getting on quite well body works going well (hopefully post some pictures up soon). up untill sorting out the alternator system. now i probably sound like a proper n00b but i can't get the rotor out at all. anyone know how to the rotor out of the Yamaha?

The n00b across the pond :)

ive had the same problem with my xj600 they pretty much the same engine as the fz600 you as above you do need a specialist Yamaha rotor tool, or you could get a cheapish 3 bar rotor puller and grind the clamps to fit thats what i did tho mine didnt turn out too well as i ground off too much, if you need any advice on it just let me know

cheers for the advice so far tank pictures up tomorrow got some before and after but been away to uni got back and discovered that a clumsy parent has dropped it so got some more filling to do :/ but anyway got on the phone to the local yamaha dealer and getting a extraction clamp on loan (thanks to a mate that works in the trade) nearly decided on the colours think i might use matt black vs. the monster energy can green :). anyway back to work be on soon :)
