Hey i have never owned a Yamaha and i was looking at the FZ1 yesterday as i am bike less right now. I wonder how good are these bikes?
thanks for any info. I am just going to be using a bike for a daily rider to work.

There was an article comparing them to the new B12 in cycleworld recently. It got good reviews but for a bit of sluggishness in the low-end, top end it ripped though from what I hear. I don't think I'd have any qualms about owning one, but I'd still prefer the B12; more torque

Get the first generation FZ1 the new ones are ugly and squidly

I owned a first generation model until some car decided that it needed to have my front end grafted onto the side of there vehicle. The bike was very fast and with a full exhaust system it got got stupid for acceleration. I did some trackdays with it and rode hard twisty's. The bike handle pretty damn good but it did have aground clearance issue when leaned way over. I would definitely own one again. Here is a pic of my now destroyed bike.
