Buell XB's all use direct mount shocks with mucho adjustability.........

I was looking at those earlier. Does anybody know how long the shock is from eyelet to eyelet and about what the spring rate is?

I was actually thinking about using a Buell tuber underslung pull shock on the bastard, but seeing as I'm not doing a full engine cradle, I don't think mounting it to the little engine cradle I'm building will be strong enough. Plus, those pull shocks are fookin expensive from what I've seen.

there's no fuckin way that a partial cradle would be strong enough to mount underslung unit to anyhow. i would ditch that idea all together because you'll stress your upper mounts so much

That's what I was thinking too. I never was too serious about that option from the start because of the high prices.

I really would like some more pictures of a TLR/TLS shock setup with the dampener removed. I think that could be a trick setup. I get how it works, but I'd like some ballpark figures of linkage lengths and shit. Maybe spring rate.

Don't factories usually have their stock shocks sprung for like 200+ lb riders? So I'm guessing the TLR shock has a 5" spring and a spring rate between 800 and 850 lb/in. That might be a decent shock for my project too. It looks like a pretty short shock, about 9.5"-10" from eyelet to eyelet.

Keep in mind, that whats there is just a spring. No dampening. The shock portion was a dampener that was attached to that crap. That was merely a "spring on a stick" as they call it.

Damn, that sucks. If it had a dampener in the shock it would have been almost the perfect shock for my build. Hopefully I can find one that about the same length as that with a similar spring rate.
