Mototgadget M Unit alternative?

Quite a few folks these days are using the very good Mototgadget M Unit in their custom bike build. Good as it is, by the time you have everything you need, it gets rather expensive.

Has anyone tried this alternative, also from a German company? b-box by Axel Joost. Seems to do all the essential stuff whilst minimising intrusive wiring. Has perhaps 90 per cent of the M Unit functions, but at a significantly lower price?

Thanks for the thoughts. You are correct in that it is not a direct like for like with the M Unit. I already said so. I reserve judgment until I receive the unit. If it doesn't do what I need (I think it will) then I can use the switches with another solution, likely the RFID switch as well (after all, it's only on/off). I don't need the bells and whistles of the M Unit. So it's worth a try I think. Couple of points about the outputs. The low/high beam headlight outputs will run a headlight without an added relay. The horn output is indeed a 3amp output. Given I want a small hidden away horn, that's no big deal. Clearly, if you want the full fat solution, the b-box is not it. But I will give it a go.

you dont need anything other than the unit itself.... WELL worth the 70 more dollars.. either for the regular or the blue...

its potted which is nice... not a fan of the wiring how it comes straight out or the connectors..

only has 3 amp outputs vs 10 amp... and its a true 10 amps as i run my hella horns with no relay..

no built in alarm.. which is how much alone?

seems way more configurable as well..

seems bare bones and it is cheaper.. but i dont think it's worth it.
