Day 19

I painted the front fender and tank today. I am satisfied with the way it turned out.

This is what my chopped up fender turned out as.

The silver is all done by hand on top of the basecoat... it took me a lot of planning on paper to be able to free hand it... I was very nervous that i'd mess up on the tank and have to start all over again... But... only one mistake... one dab of silver near the right wing.

The design: A cross that has angel wings growing out of it... and from the head of the cross, a sword extends... and the tip of the sword ends on the front fender... it matches the lines of the front fender... and the wings wrap around with the tank angles and design...

the pictures do not do the tank justice.

Day 20

I finally got around to replacing the front brake pads with my HH pads... the bike is very grabby compared to the worn stock pads.

I pieced the bike back together today after painting. Mounted my rear turn signals, brake/running light.

I created a license plate bracket and wired in the license plate LED bolts... I put my license plate on crooked on purpose.... I wanted it to be parallel to the road surface when the bike was leaning on the kick stand.

Here are some pics of what it looks like after Day 20

I still need front turn signals and at least one mirror to be street legal

Once I get to it I'm gonna use your final setting as a base setting for my carbs. I got the 110's and a couple other sizes ready to drop in and I'm gonna take the washers off i had on before my mods.

power-wise how does she feel with the open headers? you think you gained anything between the pods and reducers or did you lose power?

When I had the open headers and the stock airbox... i noticed no power increase... possibly a power drop. It was just loud.

The moment I took the airbox off... the bike had a snotty feeling to it... My butt dyno told me it had more torque

the more air you can get into your engine... the more responsive the bike will feel!

hope that helps...

I know what you mean dude I only get to see my bike on weekends when I'm home from school. Summer is almost here tho so DW! so you can ride the hell outta her  Hopefully mine will be up running strong by the end of this weekend so i can focus on the cosmetics. :letsride:

i'll know by tomorrow.

Thanks for the input Stunt... if its a burnt valve... then i'm redoing the entire motor.

But I'm bettting its truly the jetting issue... I'm just not ready to give into something larger yet... seeing as how I just siezed my dirtbike motor last weekend.
