ok..why does it seem like every step i come across something else..haha
You all will hate me by the time this is done. hahaha

ok, so, in an attempt to get new levers and match up to the new callipers, i found a good deal on a lever assembly, master cylinder, lines and both calipers for a CBR600RR. I know the lever and master cylinder will work for the brakes on the CBR600F3 fork/calipers i already have. The plan was to just sell off the calipers for the 600RR. but...they are so nice :D

So, id like to put them on if its not too dumb of an idea. my poblem (i think its the only one) is that the RR calipers are mounted radially, and the fork has them...the other way..whatever its called. straight up and down. Is there a bracket, that can be put on there to make it extend out and mount radially? or do i have to go to a machine shop around here to have it done?

as far as the exhaust goes, im going to have to take it back to the shop to have them angle it up/extend it out. It def is too low and there isnt anything else i can do about it other than that. kind of a bummer..but i dont want it to rub while i ride. ok

sorry for being so ignorant.

ps. Cruuz...i voted for you. i mean.....what a great bike.

So, on another thread I was asking about this as well, and it looks like it will be easier to just use the F3 calipers :( i mean, they are good and all..i was just stoked for the new ones. they are super nice. ah well..guess ill just sell them.

So far I think I have gotten really great deals on everything. These carbs are no exception...today, I think I am going to purchase a tank that is too much. I just can't find a good deal on a standard tank to save my life. It does have both petcocks...bit the bid is already at 150 and there is about two hours left.

Pugeyed: glad you are on board now too. Yours is looking amazing. I so wish I could have bought that tank from you...i would have paid you more than it went for :) i love the direction you are going with your build

update: lost that bid too..ughhhhhhh. i wish i had a good moto graveyard around here

That would be awesome. We should try to find a pre-planned triples meet and crash it
You only say that because the Hinckley Classic Triples Rally is in your neck of the woods!!
haha..just kidding.
I'm down for whatever. My brother lives in mechanicsburg so it would give me a good excuse to get down there. If anyone knows of any rallys next year, lets plan it.

Got the carbs in. Gotta, say..they are a little more confusing than i expected. I will take pictures soon..but..i now realize i have to get new air filters for it cause mine wont fit, and im pretty sure ill need new rubber connectors so it will fit to the engine. there are 4 hoses, im sure two are fuel but i think the other two are vacuum..since i dont have petcocks with vacuum shut off capabilities..this might present a problem. there are also like..vents on top of the carbs??? they have covers..or are supposed to..one is missing.

does anyone have this section of the owners manual for a 95 triumph 900 triple? (i think the sprint and speed are the same)

or.....should i just stick with my hitachis and sell these to Black?? haha

There will be 2 fuel inlets (fit a "tee" and run a single to the tank. The other 2 will be overflow/breather tubes (point them down between the air filters). And capping the vacuum nipple on top of the carbs is perfect. You dont need the vacuum at all if you dont have a vacuum petcock. They just have the nipple on every carb top, just easier to manufacture them all the same and cap the ones the bike doesn't need.

Power to the people Cosmo
Power to the people Marty

PS. if you know the sizes of the manifold boot/mounts im going to need and about the POD situation, that will help too.

*edit* I think they intake/filter side is 62mm. im thinking of using these pointed downwards to ensure that everything fits ok:

I think im gonna owe a lot of beers when this is all said and done

i'd say that idle adjuster is a bit more convenient that our mukunis

nate those pods are almost the same thing i have except mine aren't angled. i'm pretty sure that for 3 i paid over $100 tho, those buggers are expensive. just make sure to pay attention to all the dimensions so that they will all physically fit in the space behind your carbs

Black - Yes, that is a screw so that must be a pilot..which is awesome cause that means its way easier to get to. I bet its even easy to raise the needle. its next to impossible on the hitachis.

cruuz - i currently have ones just like that for my hitachis, but they wont fit on these. the idle adjust is totally money. not super excited about the need for a choke cable..but whatever. ill figure something out.

thanks guys....this forum is amazing!!!

u can prolly just fab a small slide lever to mount down in the general area of the carbs, instead of havinfg to run a cable for it

Yeah, thats what I was going to suggest. A lever similar to what is on the xs750 mikunis. I don't have a picture, but it's similar to the Hitachi lever, only it goes sideways and not up/down
