Hi all,

I am looking at fitting a set of usd forks to my 1994 ZZR 1100 streefighter build

Can anyone tell me what usd forks would go on, and would the whole front end need changing

Thanks John

What year of GSXR forks? You will likely need to swap the stem over, which is often the easiest option. The ZZR is quite a bit heavier compared to a GSXR, so you may need to respring the forks if they're very soft, and depending on how old the GSXR forks are the springs may well be shot anyway.
You will have a much easier time swapping the entire front end including wheel discs, and brakes, rather than trying to make your wheel/discs work.
Yeah was looking at a full front conversion including all the above, i just dont want to buy it to find out it wont fit :(

Any particular reason why you want to change the front end? Just aesthetics?
Remember, the ZZR (and ZXR750H1) front ends were very good when they were new, far better than many USD forks of the time, or even later. If you spent your money on getting the forks revalved & resprung, you could find that you get a better result...
Yeah mainly for the overall look of the usd forks, plus my current forks are pitted quite bad and they need new seals.

Just out of interest, what did you go with in the end? I'm now going to convert my 1992 ZZR1100 and am keen for any ideas about the front end. I feel the usd's look better but am considering just for hassle value to keep my existing forks and setup.
Went with a pair of usd forks from a zxr750 j1

Used the forks and triple from the zxr750, and had my original zzr1100 stem pressed into them due to height issue of zxr750 stem.
