finally got back to working on my bike! its a good feeling.
so heres a little DIY post on painting an engine. it doesnt cost much at all to make your oldschool engine look sexy.

the MOST important thing you need to do, is make sure the engine is clean. theres plenty of little corners for oil and grime to hide. i spent more time sand blasting than anything else (some people say its not a good idea to sand blast an engine, but i had no problems. just make sure theres nowhere for the sand to get into the engine).
after blasting, i gave everything awipe over with a bit of acetone to get rid of the fine layer of dust that was still there.
from there, its time to paint. lots of light coats. get yourself some high temp engine paint. i used VHT primer and finished with a saturn black.

you may also notice i did this in an open area. (not a good idea for painting. but its all i have at the moment).

ok, so the covers i had on the engine when i was painting, where old fucked ones.
to finish it all off, i throw them away and put my nice shiny polished ones on. then put my stainless screws in.

and also shave the fins.
ill get a better photo of the final product tomorrow. but for now, the pics off my camera should be enough.

File? Sanding block. If it was me I would just take a sanding block around the fins after the paint dries.
