They batteryless conversion should be fairly easy. I've talked to another guy briefly who runs his XS without a battery, and it seems like all I need to do is the permanent magnet stator swap and place a small capacitor where the battery used to be. I found a wiring diagram on a XS forum that shows all the wires I'll have to run to minimize what this bike needs. I've heard that I can run this entire bike using just 7 wires, and that is with a headlight and taillight. :LolLolLolLol:
yep. i have a buddy with a hardtail 650 and he only runs 7 wires and a battery eliminator

this swap has been done before which is where i got the inspiration for doing it prior to selling the chassis to Mike. there used to be a guy that raced WERA with a FZR400 chassis and a XS650 motor in it and it was a very well done swap but i can't find any pictures of it. i have also seen a FZR1000 chassis, but in my opinion that's just silly to utilize such a big frame for the air cooled twin.
