CB750F rat / fighter

Hey guys, Just joined today to post some pics of my bike. I have not owned a bike since 96. Before that I had all the ninjas, GSXRs, V-max, etc. I was surfing the net and discovered rat bikes and street fighters. I got the bug and went out looking for a cheap, solid bike I could screw around with and make my own monster. I found a 1981 CB750F for $700.00. Then I proceded to destroy it. But now it is my custom creation and I love it.

Basically I just put on clubman cafe bars, blacked out the wheels, gave her a nice flat black spray job, cut of the rear end, cut the seat in half, tossed out the fenders and rear pegs, cut the shocks and lowered it. I just have to get rid of that huge tailight for a small one and I should be about done. Just rigged up the rear light so I could take her for a spin.

Also, let me say that I have no mechanical ability and am proud to call myself a "hack". I was just excited that it started and all the lights worked when I was done. I see that most guys on here are very talented and create cool bikes. I just wanted to tinker in the garage and get away from the WIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just rigged up the stock tailight so I could ride it around until I make up a mount and put on a smaller light. I put the small turn signals on the rear end but the front signals have three wires. The rear ones only have two. How do you mount up the small ones on the front w/the extra wire? Like I said, I am not very mechanically knowledgable.

That tail peice is in the cellar. Post a private message and I will work out shipping it to you if you want it.

The punisher continues to evolve.

Thanx for all the compliments. I have to admitt that the punisher was a little rough in the first couple of incarnations. I slowly added / changed componants and it started to shape up. The biggest thing was getting that huge stock taillight out of there. After I mounted the small cat eye taillight all of a sudden there was a lot of room back there. I just started messin with the stock tail peice on a whim and all of sudden I came up with this solo seat design by accident. It came out so good (IMHO) that I decided to keep it.

Will post some more pics next week when everything is finished up. "Finished up" is a relative term. Probably about an hour after it is "done" I will come up with five or six new ideas to "finish" it. :shocker:

Bolted up a 94 CBR 600 rear wheel. Wouldnt fit with my shock extenders on so I lost all my ride hieght. Going to move the shock mounts forward on the swing arm.

new 170 vs old 130

Way too low

Only have to move shock mounts a few inches forward

Will look like this, visit welder tomorrow

Next is CBR front wheel, maybe front end also if it is too hard to mount wheel on CB forks.

I am considering UPSD forks. Just a little intimidated by the job. May be a little over my head, well see.

Moved my shock mounts forward on the swinger. Got my shocks back into the proper geometry and got my ride hieght back.

Front end and motor to come

So what are your plains for the motor?
Got a set of CB1000C cams. Those are going in. May also go with a 836 weisco kit. Figure almost 30 thousand miles, if your going to do a top end, may as well punch it out a little.

We'll see

The tail peice is actually the stock unit. I thinned the seat out by pulling out all of the foam, almost. I also cut the front and rear of the seat off. I then took the stock cowl and cut off the sides and bolted it directly to the modified seat. It now comes off as one unit. I also bought some allen head bolts and washers and bolted a peice of plastic in the mouth of the cowl where the thick seat used to butt up to it. Sort of a custom solo seat. :D

As far as a mono shock goes, that would be a bit over my head with all the suspension geometry and fabricating and welding. Also, I think the dual shocks look bad ass!!!

My F2 front wheel came in the other day. Also landed a 94 F2 front fender for $10.00 on fleabay. Waiting for new bearings and for the machine shop to make my new center sleeve and right side spacer. Couldnt help though, had to hang it on there just to take a look see. Will post some full bike pics once it is permanently mounted.

Thanx for all the compliments.First bike I ever modded and really didnt know what I was doing and had no plan. After hanging around here and on other sites I saw a bunch of cool ideas and and started to experiment with different things. It all started to come together nicely and improved about 1000%.

Just bolted up a very cool mod tonight but I think my fuckin camera may be broken. Will dick around with it and try to get some pics up tonight. :shocker:

Man the camera is fucked. Not only all the lines, but at the bottom of the light assembly and on the horn assembly it looks all brown, that is flat black.
