Hi All,
first question here. I've got a few restomods at the moment but I'm working on a '83 CB1100f at the moment. I've striped a Zx9r for parts, extended and rebuilt the front USD forks, fitted the CB stem so the front end is sorted. As for the rear I'm looking for an easy swing arm swap. I was thinking of moding the Zx9r swing arm but not started yet. Has any done a similar swap who can give me some advice ? Or maybe a better option does anyone know of more suitable swing arm ?

I put a F3 CBR 600 arm on a CB1100F. It looks nearly identical to the stock arm, so no style points, but you can easily slap in the big CBR 6 spoke rim and disc brake that way.

I don't remember the details, but it was very simple. I did a thread for that bike on here somewhere.

Sorry to bump a 2 month old thread but it seems the ticket lately is digging up the old stuff. I've got access to (yet another) 1100F, I can measure it up and see what I have laying around that fits to some degree or another. I think the current frame has some sort of swingarm in it that wasn't 1100F to begin with too... I'll have to ask my brother about that. ZX9 swingarms may very well be viable in the right area of length and pivot width to fit fairly nice... just gotta fab up the stuff for a single shock but if you can weld and cut and grind and do all the stuff to get it sorted, I don't see why it wouldn't be a viable option.

I'm with Shiny, I should be around alot more... but I've been incredibly busy... so much new stuff in the works (almost ready to open up the doors of a NEW, absolutely huge shop) and get back to making the sparks fly. I see an aging, old man in the mirror every morning and he tells me with the cold, sad, worn out look in his eyes that it's time to make the magic happen again.
