Be watching this one. Interested in doing the opposite build myself an inline 4 in a Ducati frame.

....how....???

I'm confused, that wouldn't even be close to fitting lol You should start a thread to discuss this so it doesn't derail this thread.

i thought the swingarm attached to the motor of the VTR?

then Again you had me at Bandit1200. i cant wait to see this unfold. been thinking of the same with my Magna750 engine once i get it fixed.

I collected my frame today from motorcycle recycle, luvly init!

I measured the swing arm spindle holes on the engine and frame and they are both 20mm so thats a result :)

next I measured the width between the frame. 220mm, but I can chop the bush each side and get it to open up to 250mm.

The rear of the engine where the swing arm pivots is 170mm

So I have 80mm, 40 each side of the engine and between the frame to get a swing arm into.

Next I used a little yellow paint to indicate where I'm going to chop the frame

I have some 34mm 10swg tube on order from a steel supplier, I just have to find someone to put a couple of bends in it for me.

VERY EXCITEDLY WATCHING! DFW!

I 'm going to get rid of the cradle and make the frame into a lattis

This is a bit crude, but you get the idea behind my thinking

Removing the cradle will open up the front for the VTR front cylinder, and removing the cross brace and redundant engine mounts will open up the rear.

I will have to replace the cross brace, but to a point that wont get in the way of the rear cylinder.

Interesting, Rob was going to use a Cagiva Raptor frame to house the VTR motor, which looks similar to the lattice design you are planning.
