Thats an excellent bike! I love the way it looks all muscular at the front and leans forward, bit like a bulldog! If I saw that coming at me it would mean " Get the fuck out of my way!" Loving it mate! keep it up!!

Thanx for all the compliments. Engine goes out in couple of weeks for 823 big bore kit, CB1000C cams and gixxer BST36SS mikuni carbs. Cant wait!!!

Of all the compliments I have gotten I have to give ratfighter the award for the best when he stated it looks "borderline serial killer":shocker::thumbsup:

I did the exact same thing to fit GSXR throttle bodies to a Toyota I had some years back. I gotta say that CF has a bunch of mad scientist type's roaming the boards. Moments like seeing these carbs mounted up makes me grin and know that I'm right where I fit. :D

Only question I have is how smooth is the inside of the connections? Could pose an issue with tuning if your getting some disturbance of airflow with any sharp edges sticking into the tract. Took almost 6 hours of die grinding to match everything up for my ITB setup. If you do run into problems you can always make some replacements for the rubber boots out of some tubing and plate steel. Been there done that too.

You are correct about the "smoothness" of the air fuel flow through those hoses. The lip of the carb and the lip of the intake spigot on the head will cause two sharp steps. These steps are accounted for in the factory manifold / boot and there is a lip in there to reduce the ID to eliminate the step.

I still have to make inserts out of copper pipe that will go inside my home made manifolds. I am working on that today. This copper tube insert will act like the factory stepped manifold and make a nice smooth bore with no steps for the fuel to travel through.

Of course I would like to take credit for the idea but I cant do that. There is an instructional thread on the CBF forum that I have been following inorder to complete this job. I am not even a mechanic bro, just a hobby guy. Without these forums I couldnt do any of this shit.

Anyway, I will post up some pics of todays work when done. :party-smiley:
