many plans rolling around in my head but for now im planning on stripping it completely down for all new fresh powder coat on the frame and engine cases. Its going to get a late model Buell XB top end with heads, and a set of X1 cams.
Body parts will stay stock but custom painted. Will be upgraded with late model XB forks and an XB swingarm which will change it from the under mount pull shock to a standard upper mono. This is also the swingam with the built in oil tank so i can eliminate the factory plastic tank. Will also be getting a set of EBR wheels, custom rear drive pulley, Perimeter brake, EBR 8 pot front caliper and Brembo 4 pot rear, some wiring changes, etc..... more to come as i stripe it down for a full custom rebuild.

I was going to machine a cush drive and convert this bike to a true chain setup (it currently has a chain drive on it with no cush)...... BUT after seeing how nasty and greasy it is... I LOVE MY BELT on my other bike.... so i think ill run a belt on this new one as well (the new one stck should be belt)...... The belt works great, quiet, maintenance free, and clean!!!!!!!!!!!!

been slowly working on the new bike when i have time. Its mostly stripped down and i hope to build an engine stand for it this weekend so i can remove the wheels, rear swingarm, and forks.

Just finished mocking up the new late model Buell XB swingarm into the older style tube framed swingarm mount.
The white pieces are 3D printed spacers that will soon to be machined from 7075 aluminum. These get pressed into the swingarm where the original bearings were and widens the swingarm and holds the older style tapered roller bearings. This allows the XB swingarm to bolt on. Next up is fitting this and then designing a top shock mount.

Buell belts are supposed to run "scary" loose.... with that said, I'm going to have to play around with pulley tooth count / pulley diameter, belt length, and a XB style "tensioner" pulley. A friend of mine has already gone through this on his Tube framed buell with an XB swingarm so I have a good amount of info to start with.

My other option is to run my Buell XB race swingarm which has an adjustable axle. Thing is.... the XB swingarm adds 2" to the stock wheelbase, the Race swingarm adds 4".

The bike has been slowly getting stripped down. Hope to weld up a frame tomorrow that will hold the engine. Then i can finish removing the forks, swingarm, and wheels. The the mockup of the new swingarm and shock will begin.

anyone using the autometer pro-cycle gps speedo?

welded up a frame stand today along with an engine stand (didn't get time to finish this stand yet). This way I can remove the frame and setup the swingarm direct to the engine for setup... then I can set just the frame up without the engine in it and also setup the swingarm and work on modifying the frame and welding in the new upper shock mount.

so going forward- plans and mods

-The factory frame will be shaved to remove all the unnecessary brackets, mounts, etc not need along with being stripped and powder coated.

-factory fiberglass rear tail will be cut to "lighten" the look along with the factory flyscreen.

-Late model Buell XB Forks, triple tree, swingarm, rear shock, front rotor, and caliper.

-Speedhut gps speedo and tach

-custom reworked oem seat

-EBR 1190 wheels

-my own designed shifter and brake lever, pulley cover, pulley guard, frame brace, under bike electronics tray, "crossroads (clip-on)" style handlebars, headlight mounts, switch housing, heal guards, tail light, plate mount, upper shock mount and im sure a few other things as the build goes.

-Planning on mounting all the electrons under the bike in place of where the oem shock once lived. Going to run as much of the wiring through the frame as possible.

im pretty of the color combo at the moment but sure it will change. Wheels will most likely be dark satin bronze and thinking purple for the frame, with a light to medium NON metrallic grey bodywork.

havnt been on in a long time and dont have much to update. This project is on the back burner at the moment. Also plans have slightly changed. Instead of reworking the current 1200cc engine i want to do something a little different.... So i have a 2009 XB9 engine coming for this bike. The 2009 engine has a much better oiling system, better crank, and upgraded with the gen 3 fuel injection system. This engine also does not bolt it. The swap has been done before but i dont like how others have done it... im going to be going about is a different way- so stay tuned. Also im kind of going backwards from the 12 motor to a 9, but it will get a big bore to make it a 1050cc. Also, planning now on going turbo hopefully.

In the mean time, I bought 2 Buell XB bikes, a very rough 03 XB9S and a salvaged XB12Ss...... Together im going to be building a custom Buell XB.... hope to have this together for this summer to ride so stay tuned for a new post about that build.
