cheers mateGood lookin bike right there!
the cafe was just shutting!! they only had coffee left.Granted its a Monday, but that's a quiet day in Masham!
some think that the lack of cooling fins on the block would have the pistons/rings over heating! but as i have seen a few with turbos on, producing over 250 RWhp with no problems, i didnt think i would have any problems with my buildwhats the issue with billet blocks?
I think that i am actually over cooling at the moment, oil temp is not going above approx 70deg once hot, so might need to reduce the flow over the coolers or fit a thermostatic valveIt will run hotter than the standard block, that's to be expected. How much hotter is probably a better question ? As long as the temp sensor is calibrated something like (got to cross that bridge myself) Running a hotter grade oil and checking changing oil more frequently will most likely keep it running happily.
Funny thing is Squires is so close I never go - it's not worth getting the bike out! And if I'm goung past on my way - doesnt seem worth stopping so close to home. Then again I'm an anti-social bastard anyway...
I read somewhere that (depending on flow air temp and speed, that the oil cooler will provide 6-7 deg of cooling as the oil passes through. Thermo-static valve would be my choice give its early spring and you're probably not running it in traffic etcI think that i am actually over cooling at the moment, oil temp is not going above approx 70deg once hot, so might need to reduce the flow over the coolers or fit a thermostatic valve
yep, you told me about the problem you had some time ago Yan.is that one of them fancy billet strip and cleanable oil filters ? I tried one of them once
