This build scares me and inspires me at the same time...what am I getting into...can I make something cool as hell, and not take a year and a college degree in engineering to finish? I can't wait to see the finished product. You rock! Sub'd

Thanks AKARonco, Anything is possible buddy, It doesn't matter what ever you do to your project its all about what makes you happy, there are no rules to how its meant to look and with no college degree in engineering who needs it. Theres plenty of help and support from fellow members on here that can just work magic. Oh and time scale you better pull your finger out and get started, lol.

Not really done much tonight, but sending emails to exhaust manufacturers for a custom pair of pipes made in full stainless as i think the carbon akrapovics are gonna stink with all the polishedness.
Been looking at www.spengineering.co.uk seems to be the place people go when needing custom pipes.

I can't wait to ride! I think I'm gonna throw some paint on her and ride for the season. I'll learn some stuff and plan a build for this winter. I can't wait to see your whip when she's finished!

The stainless exhausts from sp engineering turned up the other day, there 250mm long with a big bore.

Waiting on the 45 degree 2 inch mandrel bends to turn up from flea bay to make the y and the rest of the rear link.

I also need a seat plate for the fibreglass tail to mount onto and found this

but doesn't go high enough for what i need, so decided to have ago at making one.

those pipes look sweet cant wait to see them on the bike

Really coming together - I want to hear this thing purrrr.
Can't you adjust the subframe to make the seat work for you?
Looking back on this build, what made you decide to ditch the r1 tail - I thought it looked pretty good, although this new one isn't too shabby either.
I'm dying to hear it too, hope its much loader than the akrapovic's are.
The R1 tail mod seems to of been done allot and looking around on German forums i got hooked on there styling real extreme single seater's. Got moaned at by me welding buddy after all the time he spent on it fabin it up, and what pleased him more is when i told him that he was gonna have to make a completely new exhaust again.
The subframe is set to the tank as this keeps it in the correct position, which means the tank and bracket get right in the way, so i need something to go over the tank bracket and also house a battery and all the cabling.

I finally made the seat mounting plate after a couple of goes, but improved it every time.
As the seat curves up into the centre i needed to add height to be able to fit the seat mounting bolts to it.
So i fixed a couple of plates on top.

Finally started work on the new exhaust system, I ordered up 5x 2 inch stainless steel mandrel bends from eBay to make it.
Doing it with small segments is to time consuming and fiddly.
So had to hump the bike back down to Shaun's workshop again for the second exhaust fitting.

Dropped it off and Shaun was on it like a car bonnet.

4-2-1 Section complete and fitted.

The carbon hangers where never staying they where just there to keep it in place, I wanted the cans to look like they were floating, so we cut down the stainless brackets that came with the cans, welded them together for strength and then welded them on top of the cans.

Shauny welding up the Y section.

Welded.

Fitted.

Hi
This build is so insane ;-) How you keep your motivation is a puzzle for me. But way to go!!

I am especially focussed on your ram air covers. I will be building a naked 954 and are looking for covers. Yours are the ones that appeal most to me. So when i see the photo of a stack of them a questions pops up:
Can you sell me a set?
