Chg, thanx for the offer. Ands thanx for all the suggestions guys. I went to a local harley shop today and grabbed a longer front brake line. I then went to a dirt bike shop on the way home and grabbed some pro taper 1 1/8" bars with clamps. Ran down to a machine shop and they popped two nice holes in the upper triple with the old drill press. Mounted up the new bars and threw on the stock head lamp so that I could mount the mini stalk signals through the mounting ears.

I like the clip ons way better for looks, but they are just not practical. My turning radius was way reduced and I was hunched way over. So, for the sake of overall performance over looks I switched to the current set up.

We will see what time will bring. For now I have to trailer this thing up to my buddies for a carb tune and synch and see if we can get all my lights workin.

My motor guy came over with his carb synch tool tonight. Took about 5 minutes and he had the carbs all synched up and what a frigging differance. Bike was running smooth and sounding great. I took her for the first real "shake out" spin tonight. Man does it want to pull!!!!!!!!!!!! 1000% bette than it was. So anyway, I will take a spin tomorrow. Going easy with it for at least a couple hundred break in miles. Changed the oil tonight just in case anything snuck in there during the rebuild. No big chunks of anything came out, so I guess that is a good sign!! :D

I took some daylight photos with the new bars installed as well as the stock headlamp and put mini-stalk blinkers up front. Hope you like. :D

Havent really thought about that. The guages and the light are all on one bracket. I could tinker around and try it little lower, like I said, didnt cross my mind. But you got me thinkin!!

Getting the clutch done this weekend, new plates and springs. Bolting up some Ohlins shocks tomorrow. After that I am putting the wrenches down for a while and doing some riding. Been workin on this thing all winter. Thought I was done and the clutch went to shit. Cant complain too much though, its been rainin for about two weeks straight so wouldnt have done much ridin anyway!!!

Ohlins installed.

Headlight and guages lowered about 2 inches.

Gotta love the gold accents on the front and rear matching up!!

Awesome build so far. I realy like how you've built, then rebuilt, then rebuilt it to suit your tastes. I always think I know what I want to do, then as always I get new ideas and go with the flow. That's what's so fun about buuilding your own stuff. Nobody to convince to do what you're thinking- you just get out the wrenches or sawzall and start shaping it to what's in your head!

looks awesome dude, that bike has come a long fucking way.

I like that. How does she handles with the new running gear?
Getting clutch done tomorrow. Havent really had a chance to do much riding since the rebuild, maybe 60 easy miles. Handles great, but like I said, easy cruising so far. After I get the break in miles done and clutch squared away I will be able to lean on the throttle a little!!!:D

Did you extend the swinger? Or is it just the stubby little tail that makes the swinger look so long?

4 inches extended on the front end of the swinger. With the bobbed tail it makes it look a bit long but I still like it. It maintains its handling and performance at this length. Bikes that are stretched way out are not my cup of tea. But it all comes down to what you want to use it for. I like spirited sport touring, carvin up some corners etc. This will be perfect with the modern suspension and tires and the upright seating position.:)
