I thought I had sub'd this thread. But i found it now that it's resurfaced. Oops.

I dig it. But I've never been a fan of the dashboard on the fuel tank. JMO,of course. Looking forward to seeing what comes next. This makes me want to dw on my IH now.

+Rep for rust is not a crime

I haven't heard too much negativity towards fork extensions. They've got to be cheaper than a set of trees that's for sure. It's not like people do it to improve handling lol, so it is what it is...

Are FX forks longer than sportster's? I believe they are the same 39mm diameter, right?

Yeah same. I have also been looking up a way to mount a different swingarm (Fz 1000 1st gen) to mount a wider wheel in the rear. I will try a tube frame buell swingarm mount. There is a write up on XL forum using one to mount a buell swingarm. So I'll try it with the yamaha one. We'll see

Well I got the TL taken apart.

I bought bearings today online that should make it a bolt in swap.
The harley has 50.3x25.35x14.8mm bearings. The TL has 55x30x17. So i bought a set of 50x30x14. Let's hope the .3mm (1.5mm edge because it's a circle) can be overcome with gluing them in (green loctite) and the .8mm height i can shim out. Looks like its going to work.

Swapping over the rear brakes as well. Fabbed a mount didn't like it. Then modded the cover and perfect! I got a rebuild kit to swap it to DOT5 and i am making a custom linkage set to work just waiting for some material to come in the mail

Ok i modded it further. I cut down the sprocket cover and put in my rebuild kit to convert the MC to DOT5. Success! Next up cutting down the Cam cover to match. And according to german law i have to have something covering the moving parts so i will make something to cover the sprocket a bit
This is how it looks now.
