Okay, so this is my first bike. I bought this bike over a year ago for a cheap, "quick" fix up and ride. The bike was stretched and "hardtailed". The PO had replaced the rear shocks with metal struts. I rode it and realized very quickly that it had a charging problem. I installed the factory swingarm, bought some used shocks, and replaced the alternator rotor. Of course I didn't take any pics during this process. I had the bike good to go, getting ready to ride, checked the valve cover bolts and.....snap!! Broke a cam holder. Oil every where!! And that's where these pics come in:

They were actually for a craigslist ad. I was fed up and had decided to sell it.

The pig is up for sale again. It hasn’t been ridden in almost two years so it’s time to pass it on to someone who will ride it. I would like to get $3500 for it but I am open to offers. Shoot me a pm if interested

Had to repaint the tank after the paint cracked right at the top of the tank. I think it came out pretty nicely

My buddy is bringing his nephew to come look at it Saturday. Probably won't get asking price but I figured that anyway. I really wish I could ask 6k for it but I know that is unreasonable and I would never get it

They are very hard to price.

The guy who I bought my '80 from had $2,500 on it. It wasn't nearly nice as yours. I kinda liked it, but not $2500 worth. I offered him 1700 and was surprised took it. So really, I've got nothing to judge by either.

I don't think your price is ridiculous. I mean hell, the carbs are a fourth of that price by themselves.

Any thoughts on the price point? I would like to get no less than 2500 out of it. These types of bikes are very hard to value since they are custom and essentially one-off bikes. I just want to know if y'all think I'm close

Good luck with the sale boss man!

Well after some deliberation I think I am going to sell the pig. I'm not one to collect things and not use them and I really haven't rode it at all in the last couple of years and probably won't once the KZ is finished. Would like to sell it on here since I wouldn't have to explain everything that's been done and maybe could still keep it in the cf family. If you have any interest in it pm me and we can work it out. If not I will be putting it on Craigslist

Got the new coils installed on lunch. The old girl is a fire breather now. Literally. Gonna try and get it out for a test ride to see if I can replicate the problem or if I have fixed it

I put new wires and caps on last winter. Apparently just need new coils. Anyone got a set they are willing to donate? Just paid a bunch of stuff off so I'm a bit broke atm

I have CBR900RR coils on mine, with (bulk) Accel wires and NGK caps. Some assembly required.

There's some coil relay mod I read about on the CB site, seemed easy enough to do but haven;t tried it yet. Supposed to give hotter/better spark.

Pretty sure its the coil. As the bike warms up the tach starts going crazy or quits working (its hooked up to the negative side of the 2&3 coil) and I start losing power. As it cools off it goes back to running great again.

So it is probably done for the rest of the season until I can save up for a fully Dyna S ignition
